Prequel Part 2

Friday, August 30 9:15 pm - The two friendly young women, responded, "We'll go get our Dad.  He loves helping out with this kind of predicament and always knows what to do......

Five minutes hence, Ron, a very healthy 70+ year old shows up with a tool box, leveling blocks, bottle jack, crow bar, shovel, kitchen sink....you get the picture.  After laying on the ground digging, jacking, raising, lowering, and more spinning tires, we call it a night at 11:30 pm with a plan to reassess by daylight at 8:00 am Saturday morning.  It was a fairly sleepless night for me as I reconciled myself to the fact that I would be purchasing a new RV for the trusting owner after I finish tearing the underbelly off.

Ron's 8:000 am assessment.... Unequivocally, "Call a tow truck."  It was the best $350 ever spent - certainly better than the $100,000 I feared!  The tow truck driver knew exactly what to do, and it took all of 10 minutes to winch us off the 6"x6" timber curb upon which I had high-sided the frame of the RV.

Soooo.....Lesson #1 - Do not arrive at your campsite after dark!

Lesson #2 - Before pulling into your designated site, ALWAYS take the time to survey the lay of the land to determine how your RV is intended to be positioned and just how to get it there!
