March 28 was retirement day! After 35 years working in civil engineering management roles primarily in the public sector, it is time to move on to another chapter in life. I spent 12 years (plus three summers as a college intern) with the City of Middletown Ohio, one year in consulting, and my final 22 years with Clean Water Services, a water resources utility in Washington County, Oregon. It was rewarding work and I had the privilege of working with many wonderful people who will remain friends, rather than simply co-workers. I was fortunate to work on many exciting projects and contribute to a healthy environment. My co-workers wished me a fond farewell with a send-off party.
My wife and her sister honored me with a long-standing family tradition by composing a candy-board full of creating candy-themed wishes for a successful transition from work to leisure and travel.
